CreditDonkey: Cartersville Best Place To Live in Georgia

CreditDonkey ranked cities based upon the odds of being a victim of a violent crime, commute time, income, residents who attended some college and restaurants per capita.

A credit card comparison website has named the city of Cartersville as the best place to live in the Peach State.

CreditDonkey reviewed five areas to come up with its list for the state of Georgia: odds of being a victim of a violent crime; commute time; income; residents who attended some college; and restaurants per capita.

To compile the data, CreditDonkey used U.S. Census Bureau's Population Estimates, American Community Survey and Economic Census and FBI's Uniform Crime Reports.

For Cartersville, the website notes:

  • odds of being a victim of a violent crime: 1 in 392
  • commute time: 21.1 minutes
  • income: $45,280
  • residents who attended some college, no degree: 22.6%
  • restaurants: 1 per 198.1 inhabitants

"With a population of just under 20,000, Cartersville is bursting with small-town charm but is still convenient to larger to cities like Marietta and Alpharetta," the sites note.

Following Cartersville, the best cities in descending order were: Alpharetta, Pooler, Swuanee, Duluth, Fayetteville, Kennesaw Peachtree City, Conyers and Snellville.
