Friends of the Etowah Indian Mounds and the Etowah Valley Historical Society invite you to the benefit, "Barbacoa" on April 6 at the Etowah Indian Mounds from 6 to 9 p.m.
Proceeds contribute to the repair of the daub and wattle hut, a reconstruction of an excavated hut there in the 1950s and 60s.
The evening starts with wine and a silent auction, story telling by interpretation expert, songwriter and singer Gary Grizzly Greene, hayrides around the torch lighted Indian Mounds, sit down smoked meat dinner by Johnny Mitchell's, speaker on historic sites, door prizes and favors.
Purchase tickets for $20 at the Mounds, the office of EVHS at the Gold Domed 1903 Bartow County Courthouse, 115 W. Cherokee Avenue, or call for reservations at EVHS: 770-606-8862 and pay at the door.
To donate an item for auction valued at $35 or more, call the EVHS office and leave your information. Someone will return your call. Reservations are limited.
