Incumbent Louis Tonsmeire Sr. Keeps Cartersville Council Ward 3 Seat

It was the only contested race in the city of Cartersville.

Incumbent Louis Tonsmeire Sr. has held on to his seat, unofficially winning the only contested Cartersville municipal race of 2013, the Ward 3 city council post.

The results, which haven't yet been certified and don't include provisional ballots, according to Bartow County Board of Elections and Voter Registrar office, are:

  • Louis Tonsmeire Sr.: 353 votes for 60.6 percent
  • Valerie Holt: 177 votes for 33.4 percent
Bartow County Elections Supervisor Joseph Kirk said voter turnout seemed to beat his expectations in the city more so than at Bartow County precincts "because people like to vote in local elections."
