What Would You Ask the City Council Candidates?

Chime in on our open blog, Ask the Candidates: Cartersville City Council.

As fall arrives, so does election season and Cartersville Patch wants to know your questions for the two candidates vying for one city council seat.

Incumbent Ward 3 representative Louis Tonsmeire Sr. four years ago edged out a win over Hoyt Hatfield with 51 percent of the votes. This year, he faces a challenge from newcomer to the ring and Woodland High School teacher Valerie Holt, who this year completed the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Program, according to the Facebook page, Valerie Holt For Cartersville City Council.

Tonsmeire has been on the council since 2002.

We've started a blog entitled, Ask the Candidates: Cartersville City Council, and are asking our readers to share their questions for the candidates. The race for Ward 3, which is set to be decided by voters Nov. 5, is the only contested on the city council.

To tell us (and the candidates) your questions, click on the "Write a New Post" box at the top of the blog. Type a short title for your post, then share your thoughts. You can add photos, as well, if you like, then just click the "Post Now" button at the bottom.

Let's hear your questions and thoughts!
