Six Candidates Want to Replace Barry Loudermilk
Five Republicans and one Democrat from Bartow and Cherokee counties qualified to run in the election to fill the Georgia Senate District 14 seat.
Five Republicans and one Democrat have all formally declared their intentions to replace Barry Loudermilk in the Georgia Senate District 21 special election.
Qualifying was held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for the Nov. 5 special election to fill the seat, which represents eastern Bartow, western Cherokee and a very small portion of northeast Cobb in the Georgia General Assembly.
Those qualifying to fill the seat in the Nov. 5 special election are:
- Republican Nicole Ebbeskotte of Woodstock
- Republican Matt Laughridge of Cartersville
- Democrat Christopher G. Nesmith of Adairsville
- Republican Dwight Pullen of Canton
- Republican Dean Sheridan of Acworth (southwest Cherokee County)
- Republican Bruce Thompson of White
The deadline to register to vote in the special election is Oct. 7. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday Nov. 5.
