Saving Money on Energy During the Winter

Three tips could help you save money keeping your home warm when it's cold outside.

Here are a few tips to keep your Cartersville toesies warm this winter.

Tip#1. Start by air sealing your home. To get started first you need to locate the areas that are leaking air in and out of your home. Not only can cold air come in but all that warm cozy air can leak out. The key is find your trouble spots. To some homeowners this is very obvious, all you have to do is walk by your dining room window and you can feel the cool arctic breeze. After locating your trouble spots you can caulk or weather strip your problem areas. Tip #2. Another great money saving energy tip is to buy some insulated curtains. These curtains act as a shield for your home. These thermal insulated curtains can keep the cold out but also they can help pull the warm solar heat in. It’s a win win for you and your home!

Tip#3. Lower your thermostat. This may be the most challenging tip especially as its get colder but you will see the most savings by lowering your thermostat. It’s ok to keep a sweater on around the house and at night you can pile on the blankets! To really monitor your thermostat you can by a programmable thermostat to adjust accordingly throughout the day and night!

So these are just a few ways to help keep you saving money through out the winter season.

Stay warm!
