Poll: Beer, Wine at Starbucks?

The Starbucks Coffee Company announced several Atlanta locations will be offering alcoholic beverages by the end of 2012.

You soon may be able to get a different kind of brew at your neighborhood .

Select stores in Atlanta, as well as Southern California and Chicago, will be offering beer and wine to compliment food options in the evening by the year's end as a response to costumer feedback, according to Starbucks Coffee Company.

The four to six locations in Atlanta haven't been announced yet, and there's no indication if Cartersville could be included.

The evening concept began in 2010 in Seattle, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports, and now includes five stores in the Washington City area and one in Portland, all of which serve wine, beer and premium food, including savory snacks, small plates and hot flatbreads.

“As our customers transition from work to home, many are looking for a warm and inviting place to unwind and connect with the people they care about,” said Clarice Turner, senior vice president, U.S. Operations in a news release. “At select stores where it is relevant for the neighborhood, we are focused on creating an atmosphere where our customers can relax with a friend, a small bite to eat and a cup of coffee or glass of wine.”
