voestalpine Production Slated to Begin Next Year

voestalpine's new manufacturing facility set for Highland 75 Industrial Park in Cartersville, which was , is slated to begin production by the middle of next year, company leaders said in a statement.

The $62 million plant in Bartow County—which company reps describe as "in the center of a cluster of automobile factories"—will and power train parts.

"Cartersville is centrally located in a southern 'automotive cluster' in close proximity to our customers," said Herbert Eibensteiner, voestalpine Management Board member and Metal Forming Division head. "Once the site has been fully developed, we will have 220 employees."

It's the company's first step in a comprehensive globalization strategy set to have it investing $100 million euros, or about $125 million, in new plants in the U.S., China, Germany, Romania and South Africa throughout the next several years, according to the release, the full text of which is attached to this article.
