Restaurant Review: Wall Street Café

One of the best lunch spots in Cartersville!

Cartersville has a number of excellent lunch spots. A few of my favorites include , and . Today I am adding one more to the list: . With a welcoming atmosphere, diverse menu and freshly prepared food, you really can’t go wrong. Outdoor seating, ice cream and a self-serve soda fountain simply put it over the top.

Located at 25 North Wall St., Wall Street Café offers soups, sandwiches, gourmet salads and a children’s menu. A few of the menu items that caught my eye are the Chicken Salad Sandwich ($6.50), Roast Beef Sandwich ($6.50) and Jamaican Jerk Salad ($6.75). The Chicken Salad is made of baked chicken, mayo, grapes, pecans, red onion and celery. The Roast Beef has Black Steer roast beef, sautéed onions and bell peppers, Portabella mushrooms, Chipotle barbecue sauce, lettuce and tomato. The Jamaican Jerk Salad has jerk chicken, romaine lettuce, pepperjack cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, Portabella mushrooms and marinated red onions. The salads feature homemade dressings and the sandwiches are served on your choice of bread (white, wheat, rye, sourdough, hoagie roll, pita, tomato wrap or spinach wrap) with a side of potato salad, pasta salad or chips, and a pickle.

I made a promise to myself that I would go to the Wall Street Café earlier this week when I was in town running errands. I had walked by the café around lunch time and the shabby-chic collection of mismatched tables outside, along with the baskets of wraps and sandwiches that I passed by, called out to me. I didn’t have time to stop just then, but today, I made good on my promise and am pleased to report I was not disappointed.

I arrived just past noon with my baby in tow. We were greeted by friendly, smiling patrons lingering over their meals. I took this as a good sign because good food results in happy patrons. I was excited to join the fold.

Because it was hot outside, I was craving something cold and light. Though there were many things on the menu that appealed to me, I opted for the Veggie Sandwich on a spinach wrap. I know that sounds boring but it wasn’t your average veggie sandwich with just a few random veggies. This one had lettuce, tomato, red onion, Portabella mushrooms, alfalfa sprouts, sun-dried tomatoes, Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese and Chipotle barbecue sauce. How’s that for a substantial veggie sandwich?!

My sandwich is a perfect example of what’s great about Wall Street Café. They have all your standard lunch fare, yes, but everything’s sort of punched up a little, turning your everyday lunch into a culinary experience. The serving sizes are generous, too, so you really get your money’s worth.

The service at Wall Street Café is excellent. Before I had to ask, someone brought me a high chair and set it up outside. You place your order at a counter but the staff brings the food to you, so while it’s a relaxed environment it’s still accommodating.

is perfect for getting away on a lunch break, meeting up with a friend or simply bringing a book and savoring some alone time. The food is convenient and fast, but you’ll feel comfortable taking your time to enjoy it!
