Work is under way on the $26 million expansion of Cartersville Medical Center and officials have released a rendering of the finished product.

The project to expand and refurbish the only hospital in town will double the size of its Emergency Department, add a new patient floor and new equipment, convert existing semi-private rooms into private rooms, and refurbish both the building's facade and patient rooms.
