Customer service is the name of the game at two home and garden stores gearing up for spring, their busiest times of the year.

Atlanta-based said last week in a news release it plans to hire 70,000 seasonal associates, jobs that could lead to full-time positions. Lowe's also has a number of open positions it posted in recent days.

For The Home Depot positions, conduct a search for local job openings on the company's website and apply online. Lowe's is hiring customer service associates, cashiers and more via a separate website.

According to The Home Depot, applying for positions at a number of area stores increases your chances of landing a job.
