Goodwill of North Georgia, including the location in Cartersville, will host nine job fairs on Wednesday, May 7.
As part of Goodwill Week 2014, job seekers across the metro Atlanta area will have the chance to meet with dozens of employers at these fairs, which will be held between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Cartersville Career Center is at 929 Joe Frank Harris Parkway.
"While we routinely host job fairs at each of our career centers, Goodwill Week is one of two times a year when we concentrate the effort to connect North Georgians to work for a single-day event at all nine career centers," said Elaine Armstrong, director of public relations.
Last year, the nonprofit helped more than 11,000 people find employment through the variety of job training programs and employment services it offers. Every year since 1951, Goodwill agencies across the United States and Canada have marked the first full week of May as Goodwill Industries Week, a commemoration that celebrates new jobs.
This year, Goodwill of North Georgia will host a variety of events, including job fairs in nine locations, a donor recognition day and a workshop and gift card drawings for shoppers.
Job fair attendees should arrive in professional interview attire and bring several copies of their résumés. A list of confirmed employers by location is posted on the organization's website.
