Friday is National Doughnut Day, so guess what you can get free?
Cartersville customers who purchase any beverage at local Dunkin stores will get a free donut. At Krispy Kreme locations, customers don't have to make a purchase in order to get a free doughnut of any variety.
Appropriately, Dunkin Donuts is choosing the day to also debut its glazed donut sandwich.

Dunkin' Donuts' Executive Chef and Vice President of Global Product Innovation Stan Frankenthaler describes the sandwich like this on the the doughnut company's blog:

National Doughnut Day is celebrated the first Friday of each June, and was started in 1938 as a fundraiser for the Salvation Army, says Wikipedia.
