Celebrate Singles Awareness Day in Cartersville

If you're single on Valentine's Day, the world is your oyster!

If you haven’t been shot with Cupid’s arrow yet or your Valentine is yet to be found because he or she is still hiding under a rock, fear not.

You have a whole list of things to celebrate on Feb. 14, also known to many as Singles Awareness Day.

It’s great to be single on Valentine's Day because you don’t have to please anyone or care about anyone’s opinion of what you want to do. Go see that horrible or cheesy movie that you’d never go to on a date at Carmike Cinemas.

You can also really enjoy being with your friends. Get a group together and go to a fun concept restaurant in Cartersville, such as downtown's Ate Track Bar & Grill or a local Mexican restaurant. If dining out isn’t your thing, try out a martial arts class with friends to get your endorphin count up.

You also have the freedom to date around. Try speed dating, or if you want to take the plunge into the world of online dating, sign up for a site—you can always shut it down and pretend like it never happened if you don’t like it!

Getting dressed up to go to a party is fun, but sometimes it’s even better when you can dress down for a party in your pajamas. Get takeout from Dragon Garden or Ming Moon, put on a mud mask, read magazines and watch your favorite movies.

Another reason to celebrate is that nobody yells at you about your credit card bill (except yourself). Go get a facial at J Tanner Salon and Day Spa and a cute new outfit at Psycho Sisters.

You also don’t have to decorate your home to fit anyone else’s taste. Go buy yourself a new item at Hobby Lobby.

And the best thing of all—you don’t have to split a bottle of wine with anyone. Pick up a non-shareable bottle at Cartersville Beverage Company on the east or west side of town.
