Aflac, Cartersville Businesses To Sponsor Bartow's Amazin' Race

Twelve teams with two competitors each will complete challenges in the first-ever Bartow's Amazin' Race, set for Aug. 23 and 24.

Already $40,000 toward their $100,000 goal, organizers of Bartow's Amazin' Race say Aflac has signed on to sponsor the event in support of native Cartersville native and resident Kim Cowart, who was diagnosed with kidney failure and needs life-saving kidney and pancreas transplant surgery.

Twelve teams with two competitors each will complete challenges Aug. 23 and 24 in the first Bartow's Amazin' Race. The teams also are competing to raise the most money to help the Cowart family with the high costs associated with organ transplants, according to the press release.

“It is heartening, and downright amazing, to see what a small group of passionate people can accomplish when they band together," Isaac Hall with Aflac Cartersville said in the release. "Aflac Cartersville is proud to be the Race Sponsor for Bartow’s Amazin’ Race, honored to help Kim and her family, and bring awareness to the realities of organ transplants.”
