A Trip Of A Lifetime To A Chance Of A Lifetime, But Need The Money To Get There!

South Central Middle School Band Boosters NEEDS EVERYONE's help! The Chieftain Honor Band needs to raise money for bus transportation to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York.

I consider it such an honor to have the privilege of writing a blog featuring the same Middle School I attended. It blesses me even more to be writing it on behalf of my niece, Makayla Bonner, a trombone player in the South Central Middle School Honor Band. As most of the Bartow County residents know through media reports, the South Central Middle School Chieftain's Honor Band has been selected to perform at Carnegie Hall during the International Band and Orchestra Festival in New York, on March 30, 2013. This is a chance of lifetime for anyone, but being one of nine bands selected across the country, speaks volumes for the talented students at this small town middle school. There is a problem, though. It will cost $25,000 for bus transportation. The Chieftain Honor Band is trying to raise the transportation money they need to take a trip of a lifetime and experience the chance of a lifetime. The school decided a fundraiser that would allow sponsors to leave their mark engraved in the school band with their contributions. The school is building a new band room and will be using That's My Brick! to sell the bricks to pave the walkways to the new band room. The funds raised with the bricks they sell will be used to pave the way to New York for the Chieftain Honor Band to perform at Carnegie Hall.

This a great way for businesses and residents to invest in the community, as well as, the community's youth. Today's youth is the future for tomorrow. Let's do all we can to make their future bright.
