Tellus to Come Alive with Characters

Night at the Museum 3 is set for Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m.

is gearing up to bring science and science fiction to life with the return of on Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m.

The cast of more than 50 characters includes some of the greatest names in science fact and fiction — from Albert Einstein and Amelia Earhart to Doctor Who, Star Trek’s Data, Alien’s Ripley and many more, including 30 Star Wars characters. Members of Cartersville’s and the 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming organization, will serve as actors. 

“We really wanted to do something different this year for Night at the Museum, and bringing in the best of science fiction seemed like a perfect fit,” said Joe Schulman, director of Marketing. “Night at the Museum has always been a family event, but this year it’s going to be something adults are really going to enjoy sharing with their kids.”

The event also includes experiments and demonstrations every 20 minutes conducted by "mad scientists" and free planetarium shows. All children receive a complimentary autograph book for the characters to sign.

Last year Night at the Museum drew more than 1,400 visitors and museum officials are expecting about 2,000 this year.

“This is a unique and fun event for the entire family,” said Director Jose Santamaria. “Where else can you see Albert Einstein, H.G. Wells and Imperial Storm Troopers in the same museum!”
