Each year, Tellus Curator Julian Gray travels to Denver to attend the Denver Gem and Mineral Show. This annual event features the world's finest mineral and fossil dealers and collectors.

Some dealers use this event to unveil new finds from the summer field collecting season or to premiere new books on the collecting hobby. This is also a chance for Tellus to search for new mineral or fossil specimens. Many things now on exhibit in Tellus were found at this event.
