Family Science Night with Apollo 15 Astronaut Al Worden

Tellus is hosting an out-of-this-world evening for the whole family. A very special guest, Apollo astronaut Al Worden, will be the featured speaker at the space-themed Family Science Night.

Worden was the command module pilot for the Apollo 15 mission. He was instrumental to the success of the mission that enabled two other astronauts to be the first to successfully utilize a lunar rover on the Moon.

Β Join the musuem for A Conversation with Al Worden at 7 p.m. The lecture is free for members and included in regular admission for non-members. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Worden will also be available after the lecture to sign his book, Falling to Earth. His book is available for purchase in the Tellus store.

Don't miss a moon rock on display at Tellus for only this evening and the weekend. The rock was flown back to Earth during the Apollo 15 mission.

Special hands-on projects and demonstrations related to space will be set-up throughout the museum.

The observatory will also be open for solar viewing until the sun goes down. After dark, the telescope will be aimed at the Moon or Jupiter.

The planetarium will feature a return showing of the popular space exploration show Dawn of the Space Age.

Show tickets are $2 for members and $3 for non-members.

Available to members only: Join Al Worden at a special reception prior to his lecture from 5 - 6:30 PM.

The reception includes heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Tickets are $15 per person and must be reserved prior to the reception. Reception attendees will also receive priority seating to the lecture. Space is limited - call by 5 PM on Tuesday November 8 to reserve your spot for the reception!
