Bonneville Love - Public Reading

The Legion Theatre will host a public reading of "Bonneville Love" by Raymond Fast on Sunday, February 6, at 7:00pm.

No matter how bad things may seem, they can always get worse. But love conquers all - if you're clever enough to make it look like an accident. Come laugh at the edge of your seat as Lilly Oglesbee's good intentions send her and her husband on a spiraling path toward an uncertain destiny as she attempts to save the...m from the death trap she has unwittingly thrown them into. Set in Cobb County, Georgia in 1967, "Bonneville Love" is a dark comedy written with tongue in cheek in a style reminiscent of the period and is appropriate for the entire family.

"Bonneville Love" was a semi-finalist in Lionheart Theatre's Make the House Roar play competition and was recently chosen from among 200 entries as one of four plays to be read in Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre's January, 2011 reading festival in Mars Hill, NC.

Local playwright Raymond Fast has written several plays including short one-acts "Saving Starla," "Therapy," and "Common Ground," which have been produced in Norcross, GA and "The Scrapbook: A Modern Christmas Carol," a full length play staged this past holiday season by the Pumphouse Players in Cartersville.

Canned goods and other nonperishable food items to be donated to the Community Christian Church food pantry in Cartersville will be collected at the door in lieu of admission fees. All audience members are invited to stay after the performance for a short talk-back with the playwright.
