Curious George to Appear in Cartersville

The famous monkey will be part of Friday's Family Science Night at Tellus Science Night.

holds Family Science Night about four times a year, but Friday's event is set to have a special guest β€” Curious George.

β€œVisitors of all ages are really looking forward to meeting him," said Joe Schulman, Marketing director. "His appearance is just one of many reasons for families to come out to Tellus for an evening of fun.

"Family Science Night is a great way to kick off the weekend in a fun way that is also engaging and educational."

From 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, offerings include planetarium shows, tours of the Solar House and hands-on activities for children, including:

  • Tours of the observatory and a look through the telescope,
  • Constructing a cell,
  • Making an H20 bracelet,
  • Controlling a solar, wind or hydrolysis model car, and
  • Understanding a combustible engine.

The planetarium will have kid-friendly shows like One World, One Sky; Zula Patrol; Heart of the Sun; and Oasis in Space.

Family Science Night is free for members and included in the cost of regular admission for non-members.
