Active in the group since 2008, Executive Director Seth Hopkins is president Museums West Consortium.

During the recent annual meeting of the Museums West Consortium, Executive Director Seth Hopkins was elected president of the prestigious organization.

Consisting of the 13 largest and most important Western art museums in America, the Consortium exists to advance the study, exhibition, publication and interpretation of the art, history and cultures of the North American West.

The Booth Museum joined the organization in 2008, and Hopkins has been an active member on behalf of the Booth since.

“When we first began constructing the Booth in 2000, it was a long-term goal of ours to eventually be part of Museums West,” Hopkins said in a press release. “It was a great honor when we were asked to join the esteemed organization three years ago, and an even greater one to now be elected to serve as president. I look forward to the continued collaboration between all of our museums as we share the story of the American West for generations to come.”

Founded in 1991, the Consortium seeks to expand the awareness and appreciation of the art of the region for an increasingly diverse audience. Each of the museums in the group has been selected because of its nationally renowned collection, commitment to the study of the West, and outstanding programs and exhibitions.
