Thunderstorms on the Way

In addition to possible severe weather tonight, Bartow is under a Wind Advisory until 8 p.m.

High winds responsible for downed power lines may be a prelude to the scattered, severe thunderstorms expected across Bartow this afternoon and evening.

The system, which is coming from the Midwest, will also be bringing a cold front, according to the National Weather Service.

Along with damaging wind and frequent lightening, there are also possibilities for large hail and isolated tornadoes, the weather service says.
