What do you need to know today? A lot happens in our not-so-little city, but we'll keep you informed.

1. A high near 42 should melt the snow, but a low of 22 will refreeze any left. The good news: Thursday should be mostly sunny with no precipitation, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The dusting was not enough to close local schools.

3. Commissioner Clarence Brown approved a number of measures Wednesday. We’ll likely see continued development on Felton Road between Highway 41 and Tennessee St.; the Recreation Department is going high tech; and the Health Department is set for expansion. See the details .

4. In a subsequent development Wednesday, former state representative Jeff Lewis was elected to represent the 11th Congressional District on the State Transportation Board. That could be a good thing for Cartersville and Bartow County. See the details .
