Spring Break Cabin Fever Already?

A guide for keeping your kids entertained this week.

It’s Spring Break and your kids are looking for things to do. Here are some fun ideas that require little planning.

Where/When: 3694 Kennesaw South Industrial Drive, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Hours are Monday – Friday, 2pm - 10pm; Saturday, 11am - 10pm; and Sunday, 12pm - 6pm.

Why Go: Visit the Escalade Rock Climbing Gym in Kennesaw where your kids can burn off extra energy while making lasting memories. The gym boasts a kid-friendly bouldering Island Cage with a slide and a “cosmic monkey bar tunnel” along with climbing walls, rope anchors, lead walls, campus board and training area.

Pricing: $15 weekday pass without a guide, $20 weekday pass with a guide and $20 weekend pass.

Where/When: 50 Lodge Rd SE Cartersville, GA 30121. Open daily, 7am – 10pm.

Why Go: Rent a boat, hike the trails and picnic along the lakeshore. You are lucky enough to live in Cartersville, the home of Red Top Mountain so there’s no need to travel or spend a lot of money to have an awesome Spring Break.

Pricing: $5 parking to access the park

Where/When: Carmike Cinemas 12, see site for show times.

Why Go: Bring your kids to a matinee showing of this popular movie early in the week, then help them make their own movie throughout the rest of the week. Help them come up with a script, film the movie and edit it in on one of the many pieces of editing software available. End the week with a viewing party for family and friends!

Pricing: $6.50 matinee

THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF ATLANTA

Where/When: 275 Centennial Park Drive NW Atlanta, GA 30313-182. Open daily, Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm; Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 5pm.

Why Go: There is something for every kid at the Children’s Museum. Make a day of going into the city and exploring the vast and stimulating museum.  

Pricing: Adults and children two years old and over are $12.50 (plus tax).  Children under two are free.
