Residents Can Watch Lunar Eclipse at Tellus Science Museum

The museum will open from 1 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 15.

Tellus Science Museum will offer a chance for residents to view the upcoming lunar eclipse

Tellus will open from 1 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for residents to enjoy "all things eclipse related," according to a press release.

The museum’s observatory will be open for moon viewing, and will also have smaller telescopes set up on the museum’s grounds. Inside, visitors can learn more about eclipses in the Planetarium where staff will be leading sky tours and eclipse demonstrations using Tellus’ new high-definition planetarium projector.

Guests can also relax in the theater at the museum as experts provide running commentary about the eclipse while broadcasting images of the moon from the observatory.

If weather inhibits moon viewing, the museum will tune into other observatories throughout North and South America to broadcast images from their locations.
