The has confirmed that one of the bodies pulled from the rubble of last week's fire in Ball Ground is that of 46-year-old Darlene Norrell.

"Identification was made by dental records," said Lt. Jay Baker, the spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

But it will "likely take weeks" before authorities can positively identify the other two bodies, he said.

A former dean will serve probation time for making false statements.

Yiping Wan, who once led the University's College of Education, was convicted of the crime and sentenced to five years on probation. Wan also was ordered to pay $3,930 in restitution and a $2,000 fine.

About 35 family members and concerned residents gathered at the home of Reverend Kenneth Freeman on July 20 for a press conference, led by the West Metro NAACP.

The NAACP contends Rev. Kenneth Freeman was unfairly tased in August of 2011 and then he and his son, Curtis Freeman, were charged with disorderly conduct and sent to jail Thursday, July 19.

Rev. Freeman was fined $500, sentenced to six months probation and 10 days in jail. Curtis Freeman was fined $450, sentenced to six months probation and four days in jail.
