1. We're in for some much-needed sun before the wet stuff returns, according to the National Weather Service. Expect partly sunny skies today with a high near 65. A hefty chance of rain hangs around tonight with a low of 52.

Thunderstorms are on tap for Wednesday.

2. An announcement expected at 9 a.m. could be a really good thing for the local unemployed. Applied Thermoplastic Resources, Chattahoochee Technical College and Georgia Quick Start are expected to release information on a new partnership in which CTC will provide training for 57 new ATR employees.

3. Cartersville's baseball matchup with Ringgold has been rescheduled for today at 5:55 p.m. Cass' Wednesday game with Northwest Whitfield also will be played Tuesday to avoid thunderstorms forecast for hump day.

Woodland rescheduled its Monday matchup with Northwest Whitfield to Thursday, and today will take on Creekview on the road, which is makeup game from Saturday.

4. Need to fill up the tank after the weekend and a wet Monday morning commute? Most per gallon gas prices in Cartersville have shot to more than $3.40, but check AtlantaGasPrices.com for the best deal. Yesterday, it was at Pilot on Cass-White Road, which had regular unleaded for $3.34.
