FEMA Rolls In After Major Disaster

What do you need to know today? A lot happens in our not-so-little city, but we'll keep you informed.

1. A partly sunny day is on tap, according to the National Weather Service. Expect a high near 83 and a slight chance of thunderstorms tonight with a low near 60.

Showers and thunderstorms are much more likely Tuesday.

2. The cleanup continues in Bartow after two tornadoes ripped through, damaging numerous homes and buildings and injuring several people. Check these links for our coverage of the storms and the aftermath:

3. Items in severe need are baby diapers and formula. Donations of other needed items, a list of which can be found , can be taken to the gym by , or Northpointe Church in Adairsville, as well as a number of other collection points manned by businesses and organizations.

4. The city of Cartersville begins selling swimming pool passes today.

5. The city is expected to close a portion of Cherokee Street near to remove a tree, but the work should be completed by this afternoon.
