Cartersville Church Welcomes New Pastor

The Bridge United Methodist Church welcomed the Rev. Mike Broome as its new pastor on June 22.

The Bridge United Methodist Church welcomed Rev. Mike Broome to the pulpit on June 22 as their new pastor.

The Rev. Broome comes to the church after serving two years as associate pastor at Carrollton First United Methodist Church. While serving there, he led the contemporary services, missions, and evangelism while developing ministries with college students, young adults, and young families.

The Rev. Broome also served as associate pastor at McDonough First United Methodist Church from 2007 to 2012 and as Senior Pastor at Pomona United Methodist Church from 2005 to 2007.  

Prior to full time ministry, he was a healthcare management and marketing executive with the Georgia Department of Community Health and PROMINA Southern Regional Health System, while serving with youth (1987-2005) and in local and international missions.

He holds a master of divinity from Chandler School of Theology at Emory University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Clayton State University.

The Rev. Broome is an ordained elder of The North Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church. He currently serves on the Board for the State YMCA of Georgia, Board of Directors-Georgia Pastors School, the Housing & Homelessness Council and the Order of Elders Executive Team for the North Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church. 

Mike has three sons, Jacob, Eli, and Asher.
