What Are You Doing This Election Day?

In what has been an interesting race thus far, five candidates have been vying for the state Senate seat vacated by Barry Loudermilk, who resigned to focus on his Congressional run. It could be decided in today's special election.

The District 14 post covers portions of Bartow and Cherokee counties and a small portion of northeast Cobb County. The contenders are:

Incumbent Louis Tonsmeire Sr. four years ago edged out a win over Hoyt Hatfield with 51 percent of the votes. This year, he faces a challenge from newcomer to the ring and Woodland High School teacher Valerie Holt.

How To Start Your Own Blog on Patch

To start your own blog, check the upper right-hand corner of the page and make sure you're logged in. Once you've signed into the site, head to our main blogging page where you can create a blog. You'll be asked three things: to name your blog, a short description of the blog and then to upload a thumbnail to appear on the account. Once you hit the create button, you'll be prompted to make your first blog post. It's that easy!
