Traffic To Shift Monday on Highway 113 in Bartow

The construction is part of a 3.777-mile project of widening and reconstruction beginning west of Taft Road and extending to east of Old Alabama Road near Cartersville.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is advising motorists in Bartow County of a traffic shift on State Route 113 at the Covered Bridge Road, scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18, according to a press release.

The outside eastbound lane will be closed and eastbound and westbound traffic between Taft Road and Old Stilesboro Road will be shifted onto the two westbound lanes to allow for construction work on the outside eastbound lane on this portion of the highway.

“We certainly hope that all motorists watch out for this traffic shift and be extra cautious, while approaching this work zone,” DeWayne Comer, district engineer at the DOT office in Cartersville, said in the release. “This project may be causing the public some inconvenience, but upon completion, it will improve the flow of traffic in the area, make it safer and help the public get where they need to go in Bartow County.”
