Cartersville Christmas Parade Postponed to Dec. 12

It's the first time in the history of the Exchange Club's that its annual holiday procession has been pushed back due to expected inclement weather.

The Cartersville-Bartow County Exchange Club has postponed the Cartersville Christmas Parade until Thursday, Dec. 12.  set for Thursday, .  

The decision to move the parade to the rain date was made by the Exchange Club Parade Committee based on the forecast of inclement weather for the evening of Thursday, Dec. 5, when it was originally scheduled, according to a press release.

It's the first time in the history of the Exchange Club Christmas Parade that it has been postponed, but the decision was made in consideration of the parade participants and spectator safety and comfort, the release says.

The Christmas Parade now is set for Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m.  

The Exchange Club apologizes for any inconvenience this move will cause, but feels it is the best decision for the community, the release says.

The Cartersville Bartow County Exchange Club’s mission is to create greater public awareness of the seriousness of Child Abuse and what can be done to prevent it by partnering with like-minded organizations and to make our community a better place to live. It meets every Thursday at noon at Stonewall Manor and welcomes visitors interested in joining.
