Bartow's Bruce Thompson To Be Sworn In As District 14 State Senator

He won the Dec. 3 special election runoff against Matt Laughridge.

Bartow County resident and businessman Bruce Thompson will be sworn in today as Georgia's new District 14 senator. He won the Dec. 3 special election runoff and beat Matt Laughridge of Cartersville for the seat.

The ceremony is set for Thursday, Dec. 12, at 1:30 p.m., in the Senate Chamber at the Georgia State Capitol, according to the press release. Senate President Pro Tempore David Shafer, R-Duluth, will participate in the swearing-in.
