Guided hike departs the East Loop Trailhead at 8:30 a.m. Plan to arrive at 8:15 a.m. or early as parking is limited.

See mountain laurel at its peak bloom on this 2.34-mile hike on compacted soil. The moderate-to-difficult hike takes approximately 2 to 3 hours.

Hike is guided by city of Cartersville Parks and Recreation Department.

Overflow parking is at the Allatoona Lake Resource Managers Office Parking area.

In case of inclement weather (lightning or high winds) the hike will be canceled.

One of the city of Cartersville's newest recreation offerings, Pine Mountain Trails span 5.9 miles with east and west loops rated moderate to difficult. The estimated steady pace hiking time is four hours. The 226-acre recreation area has two trail-heads; the east is off Georgia 20 Spur, while the west loop trail-head is just north of Komatsu on Komatsu Drive. The path reaches 1,562 feet above sea level, the highest point in Cartersville. Mountain biking is allowed on the east loop Wednesday and Saturday and bikers are required to follow color-coded directional signs. The trails and recreation area is maintained by the city of Cartersville Parks and Recreation Department. The land was privately donated to the city.
