Woman Awakes to Burglar by Her Bed

A 31-year-old Guest House resident was arrested and charged in connection with the burglary and auto burglary.

A Cartersville woman awoke Monday to a noise that was an alleged burglar riffling through her bed table drawers, according to a Bartow County Sheriff's Office report.

About 8:30 a.m., the 34-year-old alleged victim called police to her Wood Bridge Drive home and reported that when she woke up her .380—which was kept in the nightstand—was lying on the floor next to Stephanie Jane Papapetrou, 31, of Guest House, whom she told to leave her room.

The victim and two other women in the home seated Papapetrou on the couch until authorities arrived.

They found several bags containing clothing, electronics and medication in the garage and outside a doorway. In all, the property belonging to the residents was valued at more than $4,500.

Papapetrou also allegedly broke into a car in the garage. She was charged with burglary and auto burglary and held to again bond on previous charges.
