PATRIOTIC CONCERT BY BARTOW WINDS ENSEMBLE
Where/When: Friendship Plaza on Friday at 7 p.m.
Why Go: Bartow Winds is throwing a free concert in honor of Independence Day. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy this family event. Why not follow it up with Stars, Stripes & Cartersville on Monday beginning with the parade at 9 a.m. and activities, entertainment and food, including fireworks at nightfall, at Dellinger Park beginning at 10 a.m.?
Pricing: Free
Where/When: Red Top Mountain State Park (Vaughan Cabin) on Saturday from 8 to 9 p.m.
Why Go: If you love bluegrass and fresh mountain air, this is the event for you! You can go at 8 p.m. and listen to bluegrass at the Vaughan Cabin or show up between 2 to 5 p.m. with an instrument and jam!
Pricing: $5 parking
TOM CLAYTON MEMORIAL CAR CRUIZE & DOWNTOWN CONCERT SERIES
Where/When: Friendship Plaza on Saturday. The Car Cruize is from 5 to 8 p.m. and the concert is from 7 to 9 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy the outdoors, food and classic cars. The Parrot Island Band performs at night!
Pricing: Classic cars are charged a $2 entry fee. Spectators are free!
Where/When: The City Cellar and Loft on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.)
Why Go: Take a date or go solo to improv night at The City Cellar and Loft. Drink, laughs and like-minded people are the recipe for a fun Saturday night!
Pricing: $5 cover charge
NAKED SCIENCE: SECRET WORLD OF FIREWORKS
Where/When: Tellus Science Museum on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: This week’s installment of XFINITY Science Saturday is all about fireworks! The program includes a looping video in the theater and a hands-on component. This activity is a perfect pick for when it’s too hot to handle outside.
Pricing: Adults $12 and kids (ages 3 to 7) $8. Members are free.
