Taylorsville Man, Woman Killed in Crash

Wright said the Ford driven by Wilma Ann Wilcox, 64, of Taylorsville, ran the stop sign southbound on Covered Bridge Road and hit the truck in the right side. Also killed was her passenger, Robert Benney Jones, 52, of Taylorsville.

Two people in a 2000 Ford Contour that was traveling southbound on Covered Bridge Road were killed in the crash with a tractor-trailer, Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said. Their families currently are being notified.

At 11:35 a.m., the car struck the right rear of a Lay's Transportation tractor-trailer traveling west on Highway 113 and driven by Joel Scott Jordan, 49, of Albertville, AL, who was not injured.

Two people were killed in a crash outside Cartersville shortly before noon Wednesday, according to published reports.

Two men in a gray, four-door sedan that traveled under a tractor-trailer are the victims, although authorities have not released their identities, according to The Daily Tribune News.

The crash happened on Highway 113 at its intersection with Covered Bridge Road near Euharlee, WBHF-AM 1450 reports.
