Teens Suspected in Car Break-Ins

A 14-year-old and 16-year-old were arrested in connection with the Acworth incidents and Bartow authorities expect also to arrest an adult.

Bartow County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested two teens in connection with several alleged auto burglaries and anticipate the future arrest of an adult suspected in the disposal of alleged stolen property.

While authorities charged the two boys, ages 14 and 16, with car break-ins, they released no information on the adult allegedly involved.

In a press release, Sheriff Clark Millsap said the teens—who were housed in a youth detention center pending court appearances—were charged in connection to these cases:

  • Between June 9 and 10 at an Aztec Way home in Acworth, the duo is accused of entering a garage, which had been left opened, and a Toyota Camry in the garage, taking more than $1,100 worth of electronics and cash. Of that amount, more than $950 worth of the property was recovered from the boys.
  • Between June 12 and 13 at a Homestead Drive home in Acworth, the pair is accused of stealing more than $2,200 by entering an unlocked vehicle and finding a hidden deposit bag. Investigators were able to recover $546 of the stolen money.
