Tree Lighting, Parade Set for Thursday
During the annual downtown Cartersville Christmas parade at 6 p.m., SPLASH Bartow will collect non-perishable food for the hungry.
Cartersville Exchange Club's Christmas Parade is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. near City Hall. It begins in the Tabernacle Baptist Church parking lot, continuing right on Church Street, left on Bartow Street, left on Main Street, left on Stonewall Street, left on Church Street, right on Tennessee Street and back to the church parking lot.
While it's sponsored by the Cartersville Exchange Club, proceeds benefit Advocates for Children and the Boys & Girls Club of Bartow County.
Just prior to the parade, Downtown Development Authority hosts the annual Christmas downtown Christmas tree lighting in Friendship Plaza at 5 p.m.
SPLASH Bartow To Collect Food
Bartow's SPLASH—which stands for Show People Love and Share Him—is collecting canned and non-perishable food for distribution to those in need. During the parade, the group will take contibutions from parade viewers.

Also during the parade, during the first-annual "Toys on Parade," Etowah Valley Young Marines will collect new, unwrapped toys to be delivered to Bartow County Toys for Tots. http://www.facebook.com/events/185387088219869/
