Harris was on scene when police arrived and was taken into custody. Two other subjects at the residence were detained for questioning. No other names have been released.

Patch is reporting this story as released by the CPD which is also the same story reported by the Daily Tribune and Today's Fax. Maybe you should confront the CPD about bias?

Not really...with a headline like "victim recovering at home"....it's biased. Just because the other guy was taken into custody does not mean the "victim" is NOT the aggressor. If anything, he is a "victim" of his own stupidity to go confront someone like that.

Yep. My bro was arrested after a chic beat the crap out of him. He was labled the aggressor n she was the victim. From where I stood n the pics, he was the one assaulted. Bartow is a joke at times!

No one wants their child to be sold drugs. However, there are different ways to handle things than going to someone's house to confront them. The 'victim' has been arrested before for assault on others. He even broke a mans jaw at Hooters about a year ago.
The way I see this is the homeowner has every right to defend his son, himself and his property to someone who comes with a threat and wants to 'fight.'. Please!! I do think Mr Harris should've shut the door and called 911 and let the police handle the situation. However, you can't always be rational with people.
I'm happy for both of the men that Mr Collum is alright. This is a nightmare in a small town. Lesson here is that there are diplomatic ways to handle situations and confronting people looking for a 'fight' as the victim does is not a justifiable way to resolve issues.

Brande Poulnot has become a little more seasoned as a reporter, but I can tell you in the past she would report charges as facts with an assumption of guilt. She was wrong several times. It is my hope that wisdom would start prevailing with her.

Didn't mean to refer to Mr Collum as the 'victim'. I must agree with Norman when it comes to who's the victim.

The "victim" as he's referred to here comes from a family well known for bullying, intimidation, and for instigating physical altercations. IMo, they picked on the wrong person this time.

As to your comment a "family" for "bullying" you obviously do not have a clue about family that stick together. Anyway why would you bring something that obviously happened a few years ago up in a post where this man was trying to keep his daughter from going down the wrong path. She has been disciplined and I don't see where you have any right to judge anyone. So guess we will all see what kind of justice system we really have. LOL

Looks like an outraged Dad in this case who probably made a poor decision. As a Dad, I can understand his anger and know that in my case, cool decision making is not part of my anger process. Glad everybody is okay but it looks like he brought fists to a gunfight.

The fact that someone is labeled a victim for police report purposes does not necessarily equate to their being in the right.

The daughter is where Mr. Collums focus should be. Obviously she as a problem with drugs that needs to be addressed the right way. The young Mr. Harris probably has a problem too and also should be treated. Did Mr. Collum actually think this was helping his daughter? Instead of recovering from wounds suffered from his ridiculous actions, Mr. Collum should be helping his daughter recover from her addiction. Grow up and be a real man for her Tony. Your high school fighting days should be long over with by now.

Thinks every one should keep there opinions to them self and focus on your own family instead of being in every one else's business. That's what's wrong with the world today. Lot of nosey ass people.

Kids that are 20-somethings are not "kids." They are adults. If you tried to stand-up for your 18+ "kid" in court, the Judge would tell you "Sit down and shut-up. The Plaintiff and the Defendant are ADULTS. I'll speak with THEM." In this case, parents should have stayed out of it altogether. If my adult daughter makes bad decisions, I'll never feel the need to protect her! It's too late for that.

People why do you think they haven't said her name? She is a minor not 22 like Classy Cartersville thinks...people have no place commenting on specifics if they don't know them.

Gaining a clearer understanding. It appears that HE was 17, and SHE was 16. Parents are IN CHARGE and RESPONSIBLE in this case. A parent needs to beat a 16 y/o's girl's ass for mixing with drug hoodlums. A parent of a drug hoodlum needs to whip the kids ass and call the cops to come lock the kid up, send him to rehab, take his car away from him, and have the Sheriff's drug dos go through the house once per week when he's living there.

I think his parents are the reason he has chosen this life and the reason he is invovled with drugs in the first place...arrest's are public and his mom has been arrested several times for drug related charges...just saying.

The parents are the ones who write the data to the blank hard-drive! That's for sure. Parents must control who you are allowed to "run-around-with!"

Excuse me someone told me it was someone else...sorry for the earlier posting... but I still think, that his daughter needs to face punishment, instead of putting all the blame on the other kid..

WGCL is reporting they spoke on the phone, then Collum and his brother got in their vehicle and drove over to the Harris' home. Once there a fight started and Collum starting hitting the 17 year old. It appears to be a disparity of force issue. I think it bodes well for Harris' defense.
