Shooting Victim's Brother Speaks

The brother of an Austell man who was fatally shot at an Austell apartment complex spoke out Sunday.

According to Cobb police investigators, 27-year-old Andre Oliver was shot on Tuesday evening in the Parkview Apartments parking lot by the Parkview Apartments security guard after they were involved in a physical altercation.

Elderly Woman Assaulted in Home

Sunday morning, an unknown male forced entry into a residence on Hazel Street in Marietta and assaulted the elderly female homeowner, according to Marietta Police. 

The intruder made verbal threats to physically harm the homeowner if she did not cooperate and took an unknown amount of cash and jewelry, according to Marietta Police.

Homeless Cobb Kids Get Helping Hand

Children living in shelters, abandoned buildings, cars in parking lots, extended-stay motels and safe houses after their mothers got out of abusive relationships—they’re the ones that drive Linda Lipp to continue on in the face of exhaustion and hardship.

“These children do not have a refrigerator to put their artwork on when they come home from school,” the West Cobb woman said. “Often, these children only have what they can fit in a suitcase or a backpack.”

Sneiderman Petitions to Loosen Bond Restrictions

Andrea Sneiderman, accused of being involved in killing her husband, was released with several restrictions on a $500,000 bond in August.

She was limited to her parents' home, she must wear an ankle bracelet and she had to surrender her passport.

On Friday, the court gave notice that Sneiderman will attempt to change those restrictions so that she can attend religiious services.

iPhone tracking device leads to arrests in Midtown armed robbery

According to the Atlanta Police Department, a pair of men were arrested overnight after robbing several women in Midtown of purses and electronics, including an iPhone that had a tracking device that led authorities to the thieves.
