Marietta Man Charged in Wife’s Death

A Cobb County man has been charged in the shooting of his wife near Marietta.

Cobb Police responded to a report of gunshots fired at a home in the 2000 block of Olive Springs Road Sunday evening. When officers arrived, they found Lydia King, 53, dead in the yard from apparent gunshot wounds, the San Francisco Chronicle and CBS Atlanta report.

A Labor Day outing at Lake Lanier ended tragically for a 25-year-old Doraville man, who was swimming across a cove at the day use area of Van Pugh Park.

Authorities: Missing Man Found

Officials from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday reported the safe return of a man who had gone missing from his residence last week.

William Carl Childers, 44, went missing from his residence Thursday afternoon.

Puppy Found With Two Broken Legs Walks Again

He has two splints on his front legs for a few weeks, making his walk resemble a fawn from a Disney film—stiff legged and bouncy at the same time—but puppy Peanut is definitely moving in the right direction.

Abandoned last month with two severely broken legs, Peanut, a 2-pound Chihuahua/miniature pinscher mix, was rescued by LifeLine Animal Project, after he was found all alone in a parking lot.

KSU Creates Department of Dance

Kennesaw State University has expanded its Program in Dance in the Department of Theatre, Performance Studies & Dance to the Department of Dance.
