Help Sought in Search for Missing Grayson Man

The family of Derek Woodston Buford, 42, of Grayson, is desperate for word on the whereabouts of their missing family member.

He never reported to his place of work—Southeastern Builders Supply in Covington—on Thursday morning and has not been seen since.

Who killed Eva "Kay" Wenal? 

Gwinnett County Police detectives have been trying to figure that out since she was murdered in 2008. And now they hope to get leads from a national television show.

"America's Most Wanted" featured the cold case on their show Friday during an episode called “The Bold, The Bad and The Brazen.”

Earlier this year, Gwinnett detectives revealed a note cut out of magazine letters claiming responsibility for Wenal's death.

Georgia Pedestrian Deaths in Spotlight

The Cobb County woman convicted of vehicular homicide last year after her son was struck and killed by a car is in the national headlines again. 

On Thursday, the Raquel Nelson saga was the focal point of a blog post on The Atlantic Cities website examining the high rate of pedestrian deaths in Georgia. 

The blogger, Sarah Goodyear, wrote about how "the rate of pedestrian fatalities in Georgia is now 25 percent higher than the national average."

Report: Police Raid Virginia-Highland Food Truck Wednesdays

Atlanta Police raided a food truck event in Virginia-Highland on Wednesday and issued citations for improper permits.

Five trucks were cited, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

“It is not a health or safety issue," event organizer Bettie Cagle told the newspaper.

Gov. Nathan Deal has named state Sen. Bill Hamrick, R-Carrollton, as the latest superior court judge on the Coweta Judicial Circuit.

His departure could mean an interesting battle for his seat, one that could include Paulding resident, Glenn Richardson, the former House speaker who resigned amid scandal on Jan 1, 2010.
