New Coffee Shop, Hibachi Buffet in Cartersville

The Gate Coffee Shop opened in November, while a new restaurant now moves into the former Ryan's Steakhouse location.

There's a new coffee shop in town. Locally-owned-and-operated, The Gate Coffee Shop opened in November, adding to Cartersville's coffee offerings—which include Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts.

Owned by DeWayne and Lara Mullinax, The Gate offers coffee and tea and soup and sandwiches, in addition to pastries and gifts in a family-oriented, Christian atmosphere, according to its website.

"The Children of God are often left unsatisfied by their experiences in the 'retail' setting," it says. "We are here to help you and minister to your needs as Cartersville, Ga.'s newest, most fun and exciting Christian establishment."
