Music, Corn Hole Tournament Planned for Friday
The Rockin' on the River Concert event is scheduled for the eve of this year's Duck Derby.
Four local musicians will cover a variety of popular songs Friday at the 6th Annual Rockin’ on the River Concert.
In addition to music by Freeflight, the event at the Riverside Day Use Area will include a single-elimination corn hole tournament, food and kids activities.
And, there will be ducks. The event, sponsored by Cletus T and Bert Tilley, is planned by Advocates' Young Professionals and will be held on the eve of the Advocates for Children's Duck Derby. Music begins at 6 p.m.
Spaces are still available for this year's corn hold tournament. The cost is $25 per team of two, and those interested in signing up for the tournament may print out a registration form by visiting www.advochild.org. The winning team will receive two sets of custom corn hole boards, and prizes will also be awarded to the second and third place team.
Tables are also available close to the action. The cost for a table of eight is $100, and tables are guaranteed to be reserved throughout the Rockin’ on the River Concert event. Those who purchase tables are alsoencouraged to ‘duck-orate’ their table using the Peace, Love and Ducks theme for this year’s Duck Derby. A judge will select the best decorated table during the concert and award a basket of adult beverages and snacks to be enjoyed that evening.
