Memorial Service Set for Barnsley Gardens Shooting Victim
Angela Player, 37, of Cartersville, was killed in a murder-suicide involving her ex-husband Feb. 21 at Barnsley Gardens Resort in Adairsville, where she worked.
The woman killed in a Feb. 21 murder-suicide in Bartow County is set to be honored where she worked and died.
Authorities say her ex-husband shot Angela D. Player, 37, of Cartersville, about 2:40 a.m. at Barnsley Gardens Resort near Adairsville, then turned the gun on himself after fleeing into nearby woods. Player in January had divorced Robert Wade Brazell, 42, of Kingsland.
The couple leaves behind two children, according to Player's obituary, which describes the upscale resort employee, Pit Bulldog enthusiast and avid reader as "immensely [loving] her job and the family atmosphere." She also enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, kayaking, yoga and fast cars.
Player will be honored at 2 p.m. Wednesday with memorial service at Barnsley Gardens in the Town Hall. A reception will be held immediately following the service.
