With near freezing temperatures expected Saturday, a group of local celebrities are set to brave the icy, cold water of Dellinger Park's pool in an Advocates for Bartow's Children fundraiser.

Cartersville High School football coach Frank Barden and punter Collin Barber, who is headed to play between the hedges; a group in The Wizard of Oz costumes; and WYXC-AM 1270 radio personalities are among those participating in Polar Plunge.

SupportBartow.com sat down with Advocates' Director Patty Eager to talk about the 10 a.m. event. While it's free to watch, plungers—who can register immediately before the event—are required to raise at least $100.

National Weather Service calls for a 30 percent chance of snow Saturday afternoon, a high near 37 and gusty winds up to 30 mph.
