Isaac to Bring Heavy Rain, Wind

The storm, now near hurricane strength, is expected to make landfall today or tonight.

 

Heavy rain and gusty winds are expected to roll into north Georgia today and tonight as Tropical Storm Isaac meets land in Louisiana.

Isaac is expected to reach hurricane strength and the coastline as early as tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

Portions of north Georgia, including Cartersville and Bartow County, could see up to 2 inches of rain or more through the end of the week.

Forecasters warn of possible heavy rain, gusty winds and isolated thunderstorms and lightning, especially today and tonight.

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected Wednesday through Sunday, according to the Hazardous Weather Outlook.
