FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK
Where/When: Tellus Science Museum on Friday, 6:30 to 8 p.m., kids 5 and up.
Why Go: Be there as your child’s understanding of the world expands. Get tickets before the event is full.
Pricing: $10 for members and $25 for non-members. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Where/When: Carmike Cinemas 12, see site for show times.
Why Go: This 3D film mixes live action with animation. Add in a box of candy and that equals one very happy kid. Rated PG.
Pricing: $6.50 matinee, $9 adult and $7 child evening. $3 additional 3D surcharge.
Where/When: Tuesday-Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays closed.
Why Go: Adults have the opportunity to relax and enjoy a much deserved cup of coffee while their little ones play on safe, inflatable attractions.
Pricing: Infants up to 11 months are free (yay!), 12 to 23 months $3.99, 2 years and older $7.99. $35 for a 5-visit package and $60 for a 10-visit package.
Where/When: The Pettit Preserve on the first Saturday of the month, March through November 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Explore the great outdoors with your kids. The Preserve offers hiking and learning stations along a well-maintained trail.
Pricing: $75 for a vinyl cling to place on your car that allows entrance to all occupants.
Where/When: Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at The Grand Theatre.
Why Go: An educational experience that’s fun too. Kids will be inspired by the story of Harriet Tubman. Recommended for grades 2-8.
Pricing: $5 per student, teachers are free.
